One thing first: this is about preparing for and recovering from a visit — not a diagnosis, and not a guide to doing it yourself. If you have a condition your physician is already following, keep their advice; this article only adds everyday preparation.

1. Before you come — relax first

Many first-timers picture a test they have to pass. It isn't one. Before anything begins, there's a fairly long assessment: we look at your overall posture, compare side to side, and find where the tension likely starts — then we explain what we found and how we mean to proceed.

You don't have to do a thing during that time — just listen. If, after hearing it, you still don't feel ready, you're free to leave; no one will pressure you. Think of a session as a chance to understand what's going on with your body, not an exam, and the tension eases on its own.

2. On the day — what to wear and bring

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. The one thing we dread is someone arriving in jeans — the thick seams block many areas, and whether we're assessing or working, they add needless difficulty. Sweatpants, wide trousers, or anything that doesn't bind will do nicely.

Bring a small bag. Before we begin, you'll take everything out of your pockets, and loosen your belt and tie — nothing should stay in a pocket that keeps the body from fully relaxing or throws off your balance. Drop the wallet and phone into the bag; it's simplest, and you won't spend the session wondering where they went.

What a visit is actually like

When you visit, it's usually the two of us serving you together — Mr. Chen and a senior colleague, quietly getting the work done. It's by appointment only, one person at a time, never rushed; so that assessment, we're happy to take slow and take careful.

See where it is first, then decide how to proceed — that order is something we hold to. If you hear the assessment and still don't feel sure, you can stop anytime; no need to push through.

3. Three things after you get home

Drink some warm water and rest a little. After the tension lets go, the body needs time to settle. Giving it that window works better than rushing straight into the next thing.
Keep your normal routine — but don't go "testing" it. Live your day as usual; don't, just to check the result, throw in intense exercise or big movements. Let the body adapt on its own; that's steadier than rushing to test.
Any discomfort or question — just reach out. If something feels off afterward, or you simply want to check "is this normal," please ask. We're glad to answer everything; no need to hesitate.

In one line: relax, carry on as usual, and ask if anything comes up. Leave the rest to the body, adjusting in its own time.

Ready for your first visit?
